As well as Chair of Rank Prize, Stuart is a Director of the Rank Foundation. He brings a wealth of experience in making grants through family and corporate trusts and foundations.

Chas is Professor of Translational Medicine (Nuffield Department of Clinical Medicine) and Professorial Fellow (Keble College) at the University of Oxford. He was Pro-Vice Chancellor for Innovation at the University of Oxford from 2018-2025.

Professor Donal D. C. Bradley CBE FRS FInstP FIET FRSA

Donal is best known for his research on soluble semiconductor materials physics and device engineering. He is Vice President for Research and Distinguished Professor, Materials Physics & Device Engineering at King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST).

Keith is an eminent physicist and a former Head of the Division of Mathematics and Physical Sciences at the University of Oxford.

 

Andrew is a grandchild of Lord Rank. He is chairman of the Biopharma Group, a leading international provider of  stabilisation process development and manufacturing services for large molecule therapeutics, diagnostics and scaffolds.

Julia’s research career has advanced our understanding of molecular structure and dynamics in polymers by applying scattering techniques, notably neutron scattering. She is an Emeritus Professor of Polymer Science in the Department of Chemical Engineering in Imperial College, London.

Claire is a seasoned executive with a proven track record in transforming scientific innovation into commercially viable services. She has recently transitioned to strategic consultancy and currently serves as a Non-exec Director with BDD Ltd. in Scotland, and advises and mentors several companies in the pharmaceutical and private equity sectors.

John’s research is focused on understanding how eating patterns influence risks of age-related diseases. He is Emeritus Professor of Human Nutrition at Newcastle University where he was the founding Director of the Human Nutrition Research Centre and of the Centre for Healthier Lives. John is also Editor-in-Chief of the British Journal of Nutrition and an Honorary Fellow of The Nutrition Society.

Carol is the eldest of Lord Rank’s grandchildren. In addition to raising a family, she was on the committee for Macmillan Cancer Support for Leicestershire and Rutland for many years, and continues to be active with Riding for the Disabled (RDA).

Professor Sir William Wakeham FREng, FInst P, FIET, FIChemE, DSc, PhD, D.Ed.

Professor Wakeham is best known for his work in the field of transport processes and thermodynamics, for which he has received numerous awards. He is Emeritus Professor of Engineering at the University of Southampton and Visiting Professor at Imperial College London.
