Stuart Cowen
Chair
As well as Chair of Rank Prize, Stuart is a Director of the Rank Foundation. He brings a wealth of experience in making grants through family and corporate trusts and foundations. He is a senior advisor with the consultancy Global Philanthropic.
Stuart served in the army for over 30 years, deploying on operations including UN peacekeeping missions, the Balkans, Iraq and Afghanistan. When commanding the Household Cavalry, he restructured the wide and complex network of trusts and endowed funds into a single foundation. Leaving military service in 2015, he was bought in to lead the charitable foundation of a FTSE 100 property company, developing its philanthropic vision and activity as part of its corporate social responsibility strategy.
