THz applications of liquid crystals
Optoelectronics
The symposium, held last week at Leeming House, Ullswater, brought together two quite different communities, the THz device and measurement community with the liquid crystal device, molecular design and modelling community.
The meeting was a huge success – superb talks were given by everybody, who clearly ‘got’ the aim of bringing the communities together. The discussion sessions were vibrant with lots of new ideas and areas of joint interests being discussed.
It seems clear that this symposium will be the start of new collaborations at all career stage, some innovative measurements, new device design ideas and new areas of research. The importance of new devices for the planned 6G technologies, for imaging and for environmental sensing means that there are exciting possibilities that are likely to come out of the symposium.
