Announcement of 2012 Prizes:

A summary of the 2012 prizes being awarded on 6 February is as below.

NUTRITION

Prof. J.H. Cummings	£80,000
For his outstanding research that established the role of the colon in human health and nutrition.

OPTOELECTRONICS

Prof. R.C. Hardie	£50,000
For his outstanding contributions to the study of the physiology of insect vision.


Prof. A. Zisserman	£50,000
For his outstanding contributions to modern computer vision.

2008 Award - The University of Dundee ((£10,000 per annum for 4 years)
2009 Award - MRC Human Nutrition Research at Cambridge ((£10,000 per annum for 3 years)
2010 Award - The Rowett Institute of Nutrition and Health, University of Aberdeen (£10,000 per annum for 3 years).
2011 Award - Human Nutrition Research Centre, University of Newcastle (£10,000 per annum for 4 years)
2012 Award - School of Food Science and Nutrition, University of Leeds (£10,000 per annum for 3/4 years)
